This collection contains correspondence, meeting materials, news clippings, photographs, and pamphlets documenting University activities and building dedications coordinated by the All-University Celebrations Committee. Materials include information on campus activities such as university tailgates at the Iowa State Women's Basketball and Football games, the dedication of several new campus buildings, and the world-record-breaking Rice Krispies treat made for VEISHEA 2001. Other materials chronicle the activities of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences (now part of the College of Human Sciences) during the theme year of "Strengthening Families" and their trips to families across Iowa in order to bring the communities of Iowa and the University closer together.

On March 22, 1948, Iowa State College (University) sponsored a 90th anniversary celebration in honor of the founding of the college, which occurred on the same date in 1858 when the charter act establishing a state agricultural college became law. The All-University Celebration Committee was created in 1998 to coordinate a campus-wide celbration of George Washington Carver, a graduate and an assistant botanist at Iowa State. Events included the dedication of a statue of Carver on campus, a faculty exchange with Tuskegee University, and a photograph exhibit at the Brunnier Museum.
